one day while i visited a friend in mandaue just across mactan old bridge while waiting for a friend i happened to chat with an old man on his late 70s'and talked about lapu lapu in mactan. he told me about the "dose pares" that as if it was the disciples of lapu lapu.... as far as i can remember only three names of the twelve.... they are leon kilat, bali alho, sagpo baha, etc.... according to the old man they possess special skills and more somewhat like supernatural powers that controls the weather.... how i wish i have more time with that old man it was so interesting......for me
while in mactan there are islands that was once used by the natives ( during the time of lapu lapu used as to circumcise males, females, and for newly wed the names of the islands were somewhat literal to its purpose names of sexual organs and the act of sex intercourse.....
the battle of mactan???? i together with some locals in the island were having a drinking session and were talking about the battle of mactan and almost all us were telling theoritical stories about the battle. until one theory lingers in my mind.
based on the following "must have to be done" theories that if magellan attacks lapu lapu in mactan before they deploy forces on land, they should have bombarded the island with there canons and since they have allies like rajah humabon the forces/soldiers of rajah humabon could be the first to fight lapu lapu warriors with magellans soldiers at the rear as snipers since they have the riffles.
now heres' the joke..... could it be that magellan was invited for a feast in the morning and they all drink eat feast and until evening and late when some of magellans' men molested or even raped the women of lapu lapus' tribe (take note that the women that time is half naked). so that at dawn when the spirit of the "kalasingan" of the lapu lapus' people, they found out what magellans, men have done to their women....... just a thought
well these are all common tales especially to people like us whose identity was either lost because of the culture maybe???, deliberately no details, or not anymore of the interest to the filipino historians... me i have to blame it to politics. or its just me... i must have missed to read our history but as i remebered my history teacher told us ( students in my class) that history books were altered and edited by influential people in the government.,.. is it true>?????
