I dont get the US hatred going on here. Dont get me wrong, I'm not hating those who hate US, I'm just merely asking and suggesting a point.

Philippines would not be the "Independent" country we know now without the US' help. It would be under the Japanese... or maybe the Chinese.

But oh well. US is the most hated Nation in the world. Hatred from filipinos is no exception.
I still dont know why though.. Many filipinos want to migrate into US, We are the third largest speaking country in the world, We adopt american ways, we watch their movies, we listen to their music, we watch their sports, we use many of their products, dream of living the american life, we follow up on whats going on in US, but still HATE US! To me, it doest make sense.

Why am I so defendant about US? Cause I've lived in both places (Philippines and US).

in recent years, philippines has been more nationalistic that usa role in the
philippines is often portrayed on the negative side... undermining that usa is our
number one trading partner. whether we admit it or not, our country is partly
dependent not only on american products, financial aid but also our lifestyle.... the
so-called colonial mentality. we pattern our system of gov't at the usa. it takes
someone outside of our country to understand the real scenario. sometimes I
wonder why not make usa's role an advantage to the philippines... just like usa and
japan, usa and britain, usa and australia, usa and canada. if we associate with the
greatest country in the world, there's more to gain... economically, professionally,
trading and more, don't you think so?

Economically, Philippines needs help also. Phillipines is not getting better... only getting worse!
US however, have been in a hole (The great depression), and got herself out. Now, shes in the hole again, but make no mistake, she will get herself out of the hole again.
Also, why does some people take help and give nothing back? NOTHING is free in this world. I hope people get that. US's intention will benefit the Philippines more than the US.
Philippines needs help. Swallow your pride people, take all the help you can get.
