actually. we are neither spanish nor chinese. we are MALAY.

we might have some chinese blood due to chinese merchants before the spanish came but for the most part, we just inherited our spanish last names through slavery to spain.

di ko alam kung may halo ako eh...sa tingin ko wala! pero minsan napagkakamalan parin akong ibang lahi like vietnamese and laotian..haha but not chinese, japanese or korean kasi ndi nman ako singkit kasi!hmm pero nagtataka nga ko,dami nman filipina dito sa hawaii,but still,yun iba inaakala parin akong ibang lahi!haha ano ba yun!

a lot of us pinoys are mixed, although a lot don't know it because their family never kept track of it historically, but you can always see it in your features

if you have light skin, but you say your family says your of pure malay ancestry, then your family is mistaken, because pure malays don't have light skin, just visit Malaysia or Indonesia. That light skin came from a Chinese or European descendant. I know a lot of Pinoys like that, they have light skin but they say they're "pure", but that's because remember that mestizos de sangley, chinese mestizos, often were so ashamed of their chinese ancestry historically that it's later omitted in future generations (just read any history book), and then here a lot of Pinoys are today, with light skin and yet clueless about where it came from, or it came from a Spanish ancestor, but it was hidden also because it's shameful to have an ancestor that was a querida, so there it is again, hidden ancestry that future generations (many pinoys today) are clueless about
